Hello all.
I know what you're thinking: "What does a closeted bisexual know about biphobia and monosexism?" I have to admit, I wonder the same thing.
But as I've gotten older, I've identified more and more closely with the not-straight side of my orientation. This identification has resulted in a flurry of research and philosophical musings on my part, which will be reflected in this blog.
I think (but who knows) that this blog will mostly be just a compilation of thoughts and observations on my part. I want a place to document my own opinions and feelings, as well as the daily micro and macroaggressions I experience and witness. My focus will be on issues related to bisexuality and feminism, although I'd like to include ideas concerning racism, classism, cissexism, and other "isms" that I find important to any discussion of oppression.
Feel free to comment or email me to share your own experiences with any of the multitude of "isms" present today.
No matter your gender, sexual orientation, race, class, age, cultural background, or religion, you have a right to be heard. They can smother us all they want, but maybe, if we struggle hard enough and give them hell right back, we can change the way "minority" culture is perceived and treated.
